Doing something new today!!

For those that don't know me, I am a recently retired Oil & Gas executive who has a long bucket list of things that still are to come. The journey is being taken with my wife Amor.  The objective of doing blogs (which is one of the items in the bucket list) is to pass on things : Knowledge, Experience, Advice, Opinions and nuggets of Wisdom that the Lord had been passing on to us along the highway of life.

Today is Good Friday and we're here with extended family observing the activities of Holy Week.  Maundy Thursday evening was the Agape meal and as I am an Elder of our Church, the Union Church of Manila, I also did foot washing.  As our Pastor said, there is an action part on the Lord's new commandment of "Love one another, as I have loved you". It is a continuing honor to serve.

I have a very knowledgeable nephew- IT side and in just 5 minutes, he taught me how to set up a Blog and I am now doing my very first Blog!  I tried doing the set up myself with all the self-help articles in the web but something in my tummy said that it wasn't right.

Lesson 1: Go with your gut.  If it doesn't feel right, stop, reflect, pray and wait.  In the reflecting part, assess whether you have the right resource and if not, find it!

Well, lesson 1 has paid out and we now start the journey!!!

#Beautiful Philippines....Twin Lakes Dumaguete

Near Dumaguete is Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park. It is in the municipality of Sibulan and just an hour's drive from downtown Dumaguete. Near the park entrance is a gov't office which has a 3D topo map of the area which shows the relative location and dimension of the lakes to the surrounding terrain.  The lake has no above ground outlet and one wonders where the source of the water is as the are near the peaks of the mountains! As you drive up, there are smaller ponds with interesting features.  We were there in March - in the heat of summer but the flora was thriving. It was graduation time at Siliman University so Dumaguete was packed but at the lakes, there was tranquility.  You have the option of being brought across the main lake by a single boatman who literally paddles you across or do a hike along a nature trail to get to the viewdeck in the middle of the two lakes.  There are no noticeable currents and the lake is murky and according to wik

#Lolofiles - Helping Raise a Grand Child

I have one living child, Sebastian Victor.  I qualified it as living because the Lord fulfilled a promise to us and gave a daughter Isabel. It was only for a few days though in 1996.  She was our visiting angel.  Victor however, is now 30, married to Emelia and they have a beautiful daughter named Athena Isabelle.  We nicknamed her "Belle".  Born 18 Feb 2016 and now a very precocious, extremely energetic, toddler. Yes, our backs are starting to ache and our arms feelings the 18 kg of  unrelenting movement! In this time of smart phones and IT connectivity, we have terabytes of pictures and videos  that document her development. This is literally from the time when she still had her umbilical cord attached to the present!  I am sure, she's part of the millions of children whose parents and grandparents have, are doing and will do as a normal part of life.
